How does one become a Member?
  1. Filling a registration form
  2. Providing all documents necessary for KYC
  3. An amount of Kshs 350
What are the registration requirements?
  1. Individual Accounts
    1. Copy of National I/D or passport
    2. Copy KRA Pin Certificate.
  2. Minor Accounts
    1. Copy of National I/D or passport of a parent/guardian
    2. Copy KRA Pin Certificate a parent/guardian
  • Birth Certificate/Notifications for Minors & other proof of legal relationship.

What is a surplus?

This is the excess income or profit generated after all operational expenses and reserve allocations have been accounted for at the end of a financial year.

The surplus is usually distributed to members in form of surplus on savings

Who qualifies to receive a surplus?

A member who make monthly contributions and pay loans promptly.

How does a member fail to receive a surplus?
  1. Have been inactive for the last four (4) months of the financial year
  2. Have not made consistent monthly contributions
  3. A member who offset loan within the financial year
Once I apply for a loan, how do I access the funds?

Once the loan has been approved, it is disbursed via M-Pesa for amounts below Kshs 250,000 and amount above Kshs 250,000 is either disbursed via acheque or RTGS

Can I have more than one loan?

Yes, you can have another loan provided you have sufficient savings.

If I choose to clear my loans, can I immediately apply for another one?

Yes, you can apply

If I choose to offset my loan, can I apply for another one immediately?

No, you can’t, apply for another loan; you will need to build your savings at least 4 months consistently before becoming eligible for a new loan.

I haven't registered for mobile banking. How do I get started?

I forgot my mobile banking PIN. How can I reset it?

Please contact our WhatsApp number +254 797 893581 or email us on rccmdf@ruirucatholicfund.org. We will promptly assist you by resending your login credentials or guiding you through the reset process.

Can I change my listed beneficiary upon request?

Yes, you can update your listed beneficiary at any time. You will be required to fill out a Biodata Amendment Form found on our website www.ruirucatholicfund.org and attach a copy of your National ID. You can then send the details to rccmdf@ruirucatholicfund.org. Also this process can be done physically at our office.

Is it possible to apply for a loan above my savings without a guarantor?

No, this is not possible. All loans must be fully secured on a shilling-to-shilling basis. If your savings are not sufficient, a guarantor is required to cover the balance.

Is the Benevolent Fund deducted from all accounts, whether active or dormant?

Yes, is deducted to all individual accounts annually.

Is Benevolent Fund only credited to beneficiaries of active members?

The member must have been in good standing; actively contributing and compliant with group requirements at the time of need.

If I am outside the country, can I still apply for a loan?

Yes, members in the diaspora can apply for a loan, provided they are in good standing, have been actively contributing, and (if new) have saved consistently for at least six (6) months. To apply, simply reach out to us through our email:rccmdf@ruirucatholicfund.org

How do I reactivate my account?

Simply deposit a minimum of Kshs 300 into your savings account and continue saving.

Is it possible to access my account statement online?

Yes, you can conveniently access your account statement through the following platforms:

  • USSD Code – Dial *853*2# on your mobile phone and follow the prompts to receive your statement or register your email with us.

You become dormant if you don’t contribute continuously for 4 months.

Yes, you can boost your savings to increase your loan eligibility. When applying for a loan, you may top up your savings by up to one-third of your previous month savings balance. However, if you are not applying for a loan, there is no limit; you may boost your savings at any time.
